The roster

Small clinic, deep bench.

Dr. Tom Rentschler has run the place since 2004, and the crew around him covers everything a cat or dog walks in with, serving Tea, Sioux Falls, and southeast South Dakota.

Four DVMs, one hallway.

All four took the same road through Iowa State. The special interests split from there.

Dr. Tom Rentschler

Veterinarian, DVM

Iowa State DVM, 2001. Took over Tea Veterinary Clinic in February 2004 and has led it ever since. Special interests in surgery (especially orthopedic), internal medicine, and dermatology. He and his wife Janelle have four kids, two Teddy Bear dogs named Winnie and Dodger, cats Lilo and Stitch, and three leopard geckos.

Veterinarian, DVM

Canton, South Dakota native. SDSU, then Iowa State for her DVM. Joined the clinic in 2009. Focuses on internal medicine, preventative care, and surgery.

Sioux Falls native. Biology and chemistry at SDSU, DVM at Iowa State, practicing since 2012. A former emergency-clinic technician with a soft spot for tough ear cases. His cocker spaniel Percy makes regular appearances.

Veterinarian, DVM

Hartford, South Dakota native. SDSU, then Iowa State for her DVM. Practicing since 2020, and the newest doctor at Tea Vet, joining in 2025. Her German shorthaired pointer is named Ruger.

Veterinary Technician

Technician since 2015 (Globe University). Runs lab work, blood draws, and surgical anesthesia. Her dog Piper has strong opinions about treats.
